prepair 3
Our 3-condition test prepair 3 is bulk billed directly to Medicare for eligible patients. This means eligible patients won’t have any out-of-pocket expenses.
Screening is sequential and starts with the female reproductive partner. Follow up screening for the male reproductive partner is recommended if the female is a carrier for CF or SMA.
prepair 500+/1000+
Screening includes the prepair 3 test (CF, FXS and SMA) and an additional 500+ or 1000+ gene test.
Screening is performed as a reproductive couple test. This means both members of the reproductive couple are screened at the same time and a combined couple report is issued.
prepair 3 will be bulk billed for Medicare eligible patients. There is an out-of-pocket cost for the 500+ or 1000+ gene panels - see comparison table.
Note: Referrers of prepair 500+/1000+ must obtain informed patient consent per updated NPAAC requirements.

Select the saliva or blood collection option on the test request form:
Saliva: patients can order saliva kits online.
Blood: Patients can visit an affiliated collection centre to have blood collected. There is no blood pathway for WA, NT or SA - please select saliva pathway.
Non-Medicare patients will receive an SMS payment link, as well as couples who need to pay for the 500+ or 1000+ component of their tests.

Results will be sent to the requesting practitioner.
